What could be the reason for the hydraulic cylinder of a garbage truck having no pressure?

2025-04-21

The hydraulic cylinder for garbage truck serves as a crucial actuator in garbage trucks, powering their operations. However, with increasing usage, issues such as reduced power or sluggish movement in the hydraulic cylinder may arise. This article will delve into the potential causes behind these phenomena.

The factors commonly contributing to the lack of pressure in the hydraulic cylinder for garbage truck include:

1. Insufficient hydraulic oil, long-term failure to replace, and blockage of the hydraulic filter screen.

The hydraulic oil has not been replaced for a long time or has been contaminated, resulting in a decrease in its viscosity and an inability to effectively transmit pressure. In response to this phenomenon, measures such as changing the hydraulic oil, cleaning or replacing the filter screen can be taken.

2. The hydraulic oil pump is damaged.

Wear of the oil pump gears will lead to insufficient output pressure. If the hydraulic oil pump is found to be damaged, the extent of the damage can be analyzed and repaired or replaced.

3. Internal leakage in the hydraulic cylinder of a garbage truck.

The aging of the seal or the wear of the piston rod causes high-pressure oil to leak from the inner wall of the cylinder, resulting in a drop in pressure. Check whether the piston and piston rod are damaged. Repair or replace them if necessary. Also, pay special attention to the sealing parts and replace them regularly.

4. There is a large amount of air in the hydraulic circuit of the hydraulic cylinder for garbage truck.

The presence of air in the oil circuit can cause pressure fluctuations or "cavitation" phenomena, affecting pressure stability. For this phenomenon, the air can be discharged by repeatedly extending and retracting the hydraulic cylinder or the exhaust valve.

5. The multi-way valve is improperly adjusted or damaged.

The valve core is stuck, the pressure regulation of the relief valve is too low, or the spring fails, resulting in the pressure not being transmitted to the hydraulic cylinder of the garbage truck. Clean the foreign objects in the valve core, adjust the pressure of the relief valve to the specified value, and replace the damaged valve body.

Through the above series of inspections, the status of the hydraulic cylinder for garbage truck can be adjusted in a timely manner. TOLENG specializes in manufacturing hydraulic cylinders for garbage trucks. We can provide professional guidance for your equipment. Please contact sales01@phtl.cn.
